Professional Statement
I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2018 with a Bachelors in Science and Arts in Biology. In addition, I earned Business Foundations and a Pre-Health Professions Certificates.
After graduation, I moved back to San Antonio and tutored elementary school children in reading comprehension, and volunteered at University Hospital. During this time I also shadowed with genetic counselors in pediatric, cancer and prenatal settings.
In 2019, I accepted a GCA position with the UAB Medical Genomics Laboratory in Birmingham, AL, which specializes in RASopathies. In 2020, I returned to Texas and accepted a position at ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ of Medicine|Texas Children's Hospital as the inaugural GCA for the clinical pediatric genetic counselor team.
I am currently a first year student in the BCM Genetic Counseling Program and serve as the class president for the Class of 2024.
