Professional Statement
For the past 25 years, my role as Dean at the Michael E. DeBakey High School of Health Professions has included extensive work to promote access to careers in the health professions for Houston-area high school students, and to serve as liaison between ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ of Medicine and the Houston Independent School District. As such, my work has been instrumental in guiding curricular and program decisions and changes at the School. At the same time, I serve as a consultant to other school districts seeking to develop health professions magnet programs. Baylor-sponsored programs under my purvue include the Doc Prep summer enrichment program for high school students, and the Houston Premedical Academy (BA/MD program).
My professional interests focus on secondary health science and technology education, and administration, health professions career access, and the development of programs and curricula related to health science technology.
