Professional Statement

My expertise is primary care for home bound and mobile elders. My passion is serving elders in underserved communities. In my work on the Ben Taub House Calls team, I provide home-based primary care, transition of care visits, and home safety evaluations. The patients who I see doing house calls reside in historically impoverished and underserved areas. I manage my patients’ chronic and acute medical problems at home, preventing hospitalizations.

I have precepted nurse practitioner students, residents, and geriatric fellows. Weekly I provide an interprofessional training experience for medical students and pharmacy students. My hope is that a single day of house calls in the communities I serve illuminate a holistic approach to geriatric medical care but demonstrate how social determinates of health impact elders.
