Professional Statement

My experience in the Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship, Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship, and Pediatric Cardiology fellowship has provided the thorough clinical background necessary to succeed in patient care and clinical education. Currently, my practice in cardiovascular critical care medicine at Texas Children’s Hospital/ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ of Medicine and the master’s degree in data science with a focus on Machine Learning at Southern Methodist University provides the tools to succeed in clinical educational research related to data science and predictive analytics in medicine. Also, it allows me most importantly to perform an excellent clinical care on patients at TCH.
I focus my current studies on the design of a model to predict extubation failure in the single ventricle population. And in the design of computer simulator of congenital heart disease (CHD) physiologic with the objective to facilitate an educational tool to learner interested in the complex physiology of CHD and patient with single ventricle physiology. I am currently mentoring fellows, BCM students, and TCH experts in data science to bring these tools to the bedside in the cardiovascular intensive care unit.
I plan to employ my vast clinical background and the tools that I learned during my master to teach data science applied to medicine to the students, fellows, instructors, and faculty in the cardiac intensive care unit at TCH / BCM.
