Professional Statement

Dr. Leonard completed her MD and PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine. She went on to complete her General Surgical Residency at Mayo Clinic and a fellowship in Trauma and Critical Care Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Leonard’s research focuses on immune dysfunction after traumatic injury, the role of the innate immune system in post traumatic acute lung injury, and the mechanisms of neutrophil activation and function.
