Professional Statement

As a neonatologist and the program director for neonatal resuscitation program education for the newborn center, I am very interested in the care delivered to newborn babies at the time of delivery. I strive to improve adherence to NRP guidelines to improve patient outcomes. I am working to improve our education experience in NRP by lecture opportunities, debriefs, and simulation. For clinical research, I use methods of simulation to study better ways to improve NRP performance. Specifically Human Factors which involve how we as humans interact in our environments. Cognitive aids for providers is one avenue with potential to improve adherence to NRP that I am studying.
