Dr. Steinberg is a Clinical Health Psychologist and works in the area of infectious diseases, general mental health, consult & liaison psychiatry, and pre-treatment/pre-surgical evaluations. Her clinical interests include brief therapies for health-related behaviors in individuals living with chronic illnesses, particularly HIV and liver diseases; pre-surgical evaluations for transplant and other medical procedures; and bedside psychotherapy for medically ill, hospitalized patients. Research interests include psychophysiological effects of stress on HIV and HCV; and HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders.
